About KENIC
The Kenya Network Information Centre (KENIC) is the registry responsible for managing Kenya’s country code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) .ke. As a trusted partner in Kenya’s digital infrastructure, KENIC plays a critical role in advancing internet governance, accessibility, and digital inclusion across the East African region.
Our Mission
KENIC’s mission is to promote the development, management, and regulation of the .ke domain space in a manner that is transparent, stable, secure, and equitable. We are committed to ensuring that Kenya’s internet users benefit from the full range of modern internet technologies, including internationalized domain names and email addresses.
Our Role
KENIC operates the authoritative DNS infrastructure for the .ke namespace, accredits and manages registrars, develops policy in the public interest, and represents Kenya in international internet governance forums including ICANN, AFRINIC, and the African ccTLD community.

We operate anycast DNS nodes distributed across Kenya and globally, ensuring 99.9% uptime for all .ke domain resolutions.
